Oversight of the Acquisition System: Building a Compliance Program

Description:  This course explores the legal and regulatory framework that governs Government contracts, and provides participants with the tools they need to build or improve their agencies’ compliance programs.  The course provides practical approaches for developing internal control and risk management measures.

Course Topics: Overview of the Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the acquisition system • Discussion of the roles and responsibilities of senior leaders, including the agency head, senior procurement executive, chief acquisition officer, and head of the contracting activity • Outline of the elements of an effective compliance program • Identification of internal and external stakeholders and determining their interests • Determining the appropriate scope of the agency compliance program • Comparison of various risk assessment methodologies • Discussion of alternate monitoring, compliance, and reporting measures • Implementing the compliance program • Auditing, evaluating, and updating the compliance program • Discussion of new Congressional oversight initiatives, and proposed regulations and statutes.

Course Location: 1100 N. Glebe Rd., Suite 1010, Arlington, VA 22201

Course Length: Three days. Course hours are 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday.

All sessions will proceed as scheduled, starting at 8:00 a.m., regardless of weather or Government shutdown.

Price: $395 per student. Groups of 3 or more: $345 per student. Members of a group need not attend the same session in order to qualify for the group discount.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Class size is limited in order to provide a high quality educational experience. Registrants may ask to be rescheduled 14 days before the course start date at no additional chard. Registrants may cancel and obtain a refund, less a processing fee of $50.00, at any time prior to 14 calendar days before the course start date. No refund will be given in the event of rescheduling or cancellation 14 days or less before the course start date.
